Working Principle

This starter converts 12V DC electrical energy from vehicle battery into mechanical cranking torque via four continuous working phases:

Solenoid Excitation

When ignition key turns to START position, low-current control signal energizes solenoid internal coil; magnetic attraction pulls the metal plunger forward.

Pinion Forward Engagement

The plunger drives shift fork to slide the 11-tooth pinion outward axially, forming full meshing contact with engine flywheel ring gear.

Engine Cranking Output

After complete gear meshing, solenoid closes heavy-duty internal contact points. Hundreds of amps high current flows into DC armature motor; high-speed rotation torque is amplified by planetary reduction gears to drive flywheel and crank the gasoline engine for ignition.

Automatic Disengagement Protection

Once the engine ignites and rotates faster than starter pinion speed, built-in overrunning clutch slips to prevent the engine from reverse-driving and damaging the starter assembly.
